JV Girls Basketball - March 22

Eagles Demolish Griffins 39-5
Story by Jesse Mann, SCCLC

The SCCLC Eagles JV girls basketball team won a lopsided victory today against the SCIS Griffins. Both teams played a fierce first quarter leading to several fouls on both sides. After ten minutes of impressive gameplay, the Eagles held a three point lead 6 – 3. Early in the second quarter, the undermanned Griffins lost a player due to fouls. The Eagles eagerly exploited this advantage and went on a large scoring streak, overwhelming the four remaining Griffins.

The remainder of the game consisted of the Eagles scoring repeatedly, allowing only one more Griffin basket. Despite being undermanned, the International girls fought fiercely, which resulted in one exhausted Griffin needing to be helped off the court. The game ended with an uneven score of 39 – 5 in favor of the Eagles.

Knights Defeat Jaguars 20-10

The Cambridge JV girls Knights won their 4th game of the season against the Cooperative Jaguars on Tuesday. The Knights started off with a 9-0 lead in the first quarter, and they lengthened their lead to 14-4 before the half. In the third quarter, the Knights scored 4 more points. In the final quarter, the Jaguars scored 6 points to the Knights' 2, but the difference was too great and the Knights cruised to victory.
