In the second quarter, the Griffins were finally able to connect on one of their numerous shots, but the Eagles kept up the pressure. The first half ended with the Eagles ahead 21-4.
The game continued in the same pattern in the second half as the Eagles outscored and outplayed the Griffins. The score was 27-5 by the end of the third quarter. Jaguars Defeat Knights 48-14
Story by Claudia Hennessey, CC

In a demonstration of their strength, the Cooperative Girls’ Varsity basketball team won easily against the Cambridge Knights on Cambridge’s home court on Thursday afternoon. A slow start for the Cooperative girls gave way to some aggressive offense by the Cambridge girls who managed to stay 9-8 up during the first quarter. However, the Jaguars seemed to bounce back after the first break and undoubtedly followed to dominate the game. Despite the Knights showing some great effort in swift steals and movements they seemed to falter when it came to scoring actual points and only managed to raise their score through free throws. Cambridge’s top scorer Maira Lino who appeared to move effortlessly under her opponents during the second quarter was forced to leave the game after an injury left her unfit to continue.
An ugly and foul-filled second and third quarter left two other Knights injured but the Jaguars remained unfazed and wrapped up the game with coordinated teamwork and strong offense in a chow down game that ended 48-14 for the Jaguars. The Cooperative Girls’ Coach held: “We have an experienced team that is clearly showing the result of their arduous training. It is not a new team we have and since only one of the girls is finishing school this year we have two more years for being champions.”
