Varsity Girls Volleyball

Jaguars defeat Eagles in straight sets

The Cooperative girls varsity volleyball team had an easy win in the first set against Christian Learning Saturday morning in their home gym, then had to hang on for dear life to win the second.
The score of the first set was 25-13. The second was much closer at 28-26.
The outcome puts Cooperative in second place, and condemns the Eagles to fourth. Cooperarive will play upstart Cambridge in the playoff, while International will host Christian Learning.

Griffins slip by vengeful Knights, 2-1

The International girls varsity volleyball team nailed down first place by defeating Cambridge Saturday morning in the International gym by the closest of margins.
Cambridge was trying to complete a remarkable comeback by winning its last three games of the year after losing its first three -- and the Lady Knights darn near did so.
After losing the first set in fairly docile fashion, 25-27, Cambridge roared back to take the second 25-20. The third set was a hammer-and-tongs affair that the Griffins finally won 15-12.
The victory gives International clear title to first place in the league, and puts Cambridge in third place. In the palyaoos International will play Christian Learning, and Cambridge will play Cooperative.
