Girls Varsity Soccer

Cambridge starts with 6 players
Griffins drub hapless Knights, 4-0

The International girls varsity soccer team defeated Cambridge 4-0 Saturday morning on their home field.
While coaches often complain that their team was "asleep" on a given occasion, this may literally have been true in the case of the Lady Knights, who had only six players (and no goalie) when the game started shortly after the crack of dawn.
Eventually they would have ten players on hand, but by then the damage had been done. Melisa Roca helped put the Knights out of their misery by scoring three times for the Griffins. Mariana Chavez added the fourth tally.
Moira Vaca of Cambridge was given a yellow card.
The standings for girls varsity are still uncertain, except for first place, which has belonged to Cooperative for over a week. The remaining positions will depend on the outcome of Monday's game between International and Christian Learning.
