Eagle JV girls defeat Jaguars, 2-0
The Christian Learning junior varsity girls volleyball team boosted itself into a tie for second place in the league by defeating Cooperative Saturday in the Jaguars' gym.
Both Christian Learning and Cooperative now have 3-3 records in a league that has been extremely competitive this year. The League will announce shortly which team will be in the junior varsity championship Tuesday after applying its tie-breaking procedures based on analysis of total sets won and sets lost, and, possibly, points for and points against. The two teams have each beaten the other once.
Griffinettes beat Cambridge JV 2-0
The International junior varsity girls volleyball team had an easy one, and a hard one, as it defeated Cambridge in straight sets Saturday morning in their home gym.
The Griffin juniors won the first set 25-12, but had a much tougher time winning the second 25-23.
The win gave International undisputed possession of first place in the league. It will face either Cooperative or Christian Learning in the JV championship Tuesday, depending on which is selected by the League computer in conformance with the League's arcane tie-breaking rules.
