Jaguar JV snuffs Eagle rally, wins 2-0
The Cooperative hunior varsity girls volleyball team looked as if it would cruise to an easy win over Christian Learning, but had to fight like crazy to keep victory from slipping away in the second set.
The game was playing the Jaguar gym Thursday.
The Little Jaguars had things entirely their own way in the opening set, winning 25-11.
They seemed to have the second set under control as well until the closing stages when the Eaglettes began eroding the Jaguar lead in big chunks until the score was tied at 22-22.
From that point the two teams went toe-to-toe with the lead changing hands once, and three ties before the Jaguars were finally able to put the set away 27-25.
The serving and returns of Rebecca Enns were a major factor in the Eagle resurgence.
The Jaguars got some terrific serving from Tamara Paz that won a number of important points. Captain Maria Jose Viacava also played a solid game.
