Knights Overcome Eagles 31-11
Story by Jesse Mann, SCCLC
A fast paced contest between the Christian Learning Center Eagles and the Cambridge Knights marked the beginning of the JV boys basketball season. Cambridge scored first, but the Eagles retaliated with three baskets that put them ahead 6 – 2. Not to be outdone, Cambridge responded with a spectacular three point play that evened out the score to 6 – 5. Cambridge kept the momentum going and finished the first half ahead of the eagles 9 – 7. Any hope of an Eagle comeback was dashed as the Knights embarked on a fantastic 15 point scoring streak in the third quarter. The Eagles remained scoreless in the third quarter, victims to what one Eagles fan described as an "offensive explosion" by the Knights. The Eagle's managed one basket in the fourth quarter, leaving the final score at 31 – 11.

The Cooperative JV boys basketball team held the lead for the entire game against the International Griffins in a game played in the International gym on Tuesday. The Jaguar boys started the first quarter off with a 2-0 lead and stretched their lead out to 10-0 by the end of the second quarter. They seemed to be prepared to gain an easy victory. The Jaguar dominance was partly due to ceaseless shooting throughout the first half. In contrast, the Griffin boys had relatively few opportunities to score.
In the final quarter, the Griffins put forth one last effort. They succeeded in scoring 4 points, but the gap was too big to cover. The game finally ended in a victory for the Jaguars team with a score of 14-5.
