Civil unrest forces postponements

JV soccer championships re-slated for next week
The current unpleasantness in Santa Cruz has forced a reconfiguration of the schedule for the junior varsity soccer championships scheduled for today (Friday), and possibly the varsity girls semifinal volleyball games currently slated for Monday.
The JV soccer championships are now scheduled for next Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Co-operative School (the original location).
If there is a strike Monday, the varsity girls semi-final games between International and Co-operative at International, and between Cambridge and Christian Learning at Christian Learning will be played the next day -- Tuesday, October 23 -- together with the boys semifinals already scheduled for that date. The starting times will be adjusted.
The varsity girls soccer game between Christian Learning and Cambridge that was also scheduled for today will not be played. It will be recorded as a 2-0 forfeit loss by Cambridge, which declined to play.
The outcome does not alter the order of finish in the standings, or the pairings for the playoffs. The game was originally scheduled for earlier this month during the regular season and has been postponed three previous times.
