Eagle girls surprise Griffins 1-0

A second half goal by Mariela Salinas gave the Christian Learning girls varsity soccer team a dramatic 1-0 win over International on the Griffins field Monday afternoon.
The goal came on a long crossing pass that several players had a chance to knock in, or out, before Salinas smacked it into the goal from the far right-hand side.
Before then (and after) the game was a hard-fought defensive struggle in which both team's defenses were tested, but held. Both goalies had numerous saves.
The win moves the Eagles into a tie for second place with the Griffins who had previously lost only to Cooperative.

Jaguars score early and often

Exploding for five first half goals, the Cooperative girls varsity soccer team continued its undefeated season with a 7-1 victory over Cambridge on its home field Monday.
Fernanda Vaca Diez had a hat trick for the Jaguars, all scored in the first half. Tania Landivar had two goals, while Soifia Sotelo and Aldana Roda had a goal each.
Vanessa Flores tallied Cambridge's goal.
