Griffins, Eagles battle to 1-1 tie

The International and Christian Learning JV girls soccer teams ended up in a 1-1 tie in their season opener at International Tuesday afternoon.

While the game goes in the record books as a tie, the Griffins earned an extra point in the standings by taking the penalty shot shootout handily 3-0 when they made their first three shots while their goalie blocked the Eagles first three shots.
During regulation time the Eagles struck first with a goal in the first half by Emily Ordoñez. It was not until the second half that eighth grader Renata Maggi scored the equalizer for the Griffins.Both defenses stayed strong throughout the game, forcing the shootout.

Jaguars overwhelm Knights 10-0
The Cooperative JV girls soccer team handiuly defeated Cambridge 9-0 Tuesday in a game polayed on the Jaguars field. 
Michelle Lederman led the Jaguar attack with three goals, all in the seond half. Cassandra Morales, Cristiani Zurita, and Fabiana Andrade each had two goals, and Paula Sakuma had one. Cooperative led 5-0 at the half.
