HERE IT COMES . . . AND THERE IT GOES -- Eagle Emily Ordoñez notches the first of her two goals on a breakaway, putting the ball past Griffin goalie Katherin Ceballos.

Late scores give Little Eagles 2-0 triumph

The Christian Learning girls juniors varsity soccer team scored twice in the final minute of play to break open what had been a hard-fought scoreless ties, and garner a 2-0 win over International on the International field Tuesday.
Both goals were scored by sixth grader Emily Ordoñez. She got the first by winning a footrace against two International defenders to catch up with a booming kick by goalie Rebekah Kienzle. Ordoñez took charge of the ball in full stride after its second bounce and eased the ball into the corner of the goal. Only seconds later she got the ball on the left-hand side of the goal and again threaded the ball just inside the goal post.
Scoring opportunities had been few and far between for both teams up until the final minute.
