A regional general strike in Bolivia forced a delay in the opening of the Santa Cruz Interscholastic Sports League’s soccer and volleyball seasons, originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 28.
The season will open instead on Thursday, August 30, with the boys soccer and girls volleyball games already scheduled for that date.
For both sports, the Santa Cruz Co-operative School will be playing host to Cambridge College, while Santa Cruz International School entertains Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center. The junior varsity teams from each school play at 3:30, with the varsity games following at 4:30.
The girls soccer and boys volleyball games scheduled for August 28 will be played at a date to be determined later in the season.
